ANXIETY MANAGEMENT SERVICES
In a nutshell, we teach people how to manage anxiety and depression. We do it uniquely and effectively and we achieve this in one-on-one sessions and in group sessions.
Anxiety Management Services was set up by two highly educated and widely experienced therapists. There are any number of therapists or modalities, promising relief from a variety of anxiety disorders and from depression but we believe that we offer something distinctive in the treatment of these disorders. And most of our clients experience significant relief within the first week of consulting with us, a claim we do not make lightly.
We believe that we are unique and exclusive in 2 respects - and our approach is backed by solid empirical and clinical data, as well as being endorsed by psychiatric, psychological and neuropsychological experts.
We offer the latest approaches to the above disorders - we are Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) grounded and have moved somewhat away from the gold standard of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). And we augment our approach with group therapy - including exercise! So we are unique - in several respects.
We are not devoting pages and pages of this site to describing anxiety or depression - about their causes, their symptoms, heredity factors, biological causes, treatment modalities and the like. There are about 92 million pages on the internet in response to a Google on 'anxiety' or 'depression', as well as any number of self-help books on the subject for people who want to read more on the basics of anxiety and depression. Our site does offer an extensive bibliography for those people who are interested.
We will merely offer, below, a quick summary of who we are, what we do and how we do it. Both practitioners in this practice are highly experienced professionals with impressive academic and clinical credentials, who have honed their expertise in the mood and anxiety disorders and who specialise in this field.
The site therefore only describes what is relevant for prospective clients who are searching for help, or for other interested readers.
